From a distance Aurora Dragons are easy to spot, but hard to recognize. Their bright, multicolored hides appear to glimmer with reflected light, making them very noticeable when they fly. However, Aurora Dragons are very slender, very speedy, and have sleek, wingless form; this makes them appear to ripple across the sky rather than fly through it. Aurora Dragons are social creatures, though they generally prefer the company of other Aurora Dragons. They take flight in closely knit packs, creating a cascade of color across the sky. When flying in arcs, they can actually make rainbows appear, leading many would-be treasure hunters to search for gold and find only disappiontment. Before settling in the Dragon Isles, Aurora Dragons were indigenous to the Arctic region. In those days, fishermen in the region would see flocks of Auroras flying across the night sky, and would confuse them with the weather phenomena for which Aurora Dragons are named.
